Love cinnamon rolls? This recipe is for you!

Enjoy the same flavours, but in cake form. Forget the fuss of dealing with yeast and dough, and enjoy this much easier, and lighter dessert instead. I guarantee it’s delicious! Give it a try and let me know. Recipe below:

¼ cup oil (any variety)
½ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
¾ cup milk (any variety)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1/8th tsp salt

Cinnamon swirl
½ cup brown sugar (well packed)
¼ cup oil (any variety)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 ½ tbsp all purpose flour

Icing
1 cup icing sugar
3 tbsp milk or water (or just enough to make icing pourable)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Add oil, sugar, egg and milk to bowl and mix well. Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix until combined.
2. Pour into an 8” x 8”  square baking dish sprayed with vegetable oil.
3. In a smaller bowl  add brown sugar, oil, cinnamon and flour and mix until combined.  Spoon onto cake and swirl with a knife.
4. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes just until tester comes out just dry. Do not over bake.
5. Mix icing sugar and milk until just pourable and spoon over top cake. Enjoy!
